Cassandra Peterson – Born in 1951
American actress Cassandra Peterson is better known by her stage name, “Elvira,” thanks to her role as the vampire hostess on the hit TV series “Elvira’s Movie Macabre.” After the success of the comedic horror film “Elvira, Mistress of the Dark,” she appeared in several other movies and television shows in the role of Elvira.
Later in her career, Peterson hosted her very own reality competition TV show, “The Search for the New Elvira.” Some of her other movie credits include “Fantasy Island,” “CHiPs,” and “Red Riding Hood.” She also recorded several songs and skits and starred in music videos dressed in character as the iconic vamp.
